Karen I. Calhoun
|
Karen Calhoun is a corporate transactional attorney who works on business
sales and purchases, general agreement negotiations, business structuring, financing
and day-to-day legal management.
With 28 years of transactional law experience, Karen was formerly a partner
at Sheppard Mullin Richter & Hampton LLP in Costa Mesa and McDermott Will & Emery
LLP in Irvine.
Karen has represented sellers and buyers, licensors and licensees, and owners and
management. Clients benefit from Karen’s understanding of each side of a negotiation.
With 18 years of large law firm experience and her solo practice since 2009,
Karen has worked with clients in a variety of industries, including: aerospace,
apparel, automotive, beverage, construction, consulting, defense, electronics, film,
financial services, fitness, food, fuel, healthcare, homeowner associations,
manufacturing, media, medical device, pharmaceuticals, real estate, recruiting,
sanitation, software, spa, sporting goods, technology, telecommunications and utilities.
Karen efficiently delivers sophisticated, practical legal services. Her goal is

After receiving her B.A., cum laude, from Claremont McKenna College in 1985,
Karen worked for three years in the commercial real estate industry. She earned
her J.D. from the University of San Francisco School of Law in 1991 where she served
on the Law Review. In 1991 Karen served as an Extern to the Honorable Armand Arabian,
Associate Justice, California Supreme Court (Retired).
Karen is a California licensed real estate broker. She lives in Orange County with
her husband and two daughters. The Calhoun family enjoys fly fishing. Karen holds
a world record certified by the International Game Fish Association for Pacific
Barracuda on 12 pound tippet. |
